This is the second of 9 grandchildren that I plan to paint. Done with the same method as the others, on hot-press paper. This painting was not monochromatic however. I was pleased with the smile.
Doyle - just visited here. Wonderful portraits! Your engineering technicality shows thru with the perfect facial details! I know other watercolorists who would be interested about the was medium you use as a sealer. How is it applied and finished? Thank you!
I spe nt 37 years in Corvallis as a structural engineer, using the left side of my brain and neglecting the right side. I retired in 2006, and started exploring the right side, with sketching and watercolors.
I have taken watercolor classes from Mark Allison, and LaVonne Tarbox-Crone. In addition, I have taken watercolor workshops from Ted Nuttal, Donna Zagotta, and Arnie Westerman, and am currently painting weekly with James Kirk.
I am a member of:
Corvallis Art Guild
Watercolor Society of Oregon
And an Associate Member of:
National Watercolor Society
Ameroican Watercolor Society
